June 30th 2011: London

Business class flight from Chicago to London. I was offered champagne a minute after sitting down! Definitely like the Seinfeld episode.

I listened to Bossypantsfor a while, but I had to stop . . . I was giggling and everyone else was going to sleep. If you haven’t read it, you should. Better, listen to it. Thanks Té!!

London in a day: walked 10 miles. Saw Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, horses in Hyde Park, war memorials in Victoria Square, the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Parliament, Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square, Protest March along the Strand, Tower Bridge, and St. Paul’s.

Met up with James Cousins on Brick Lane, as well as his roommate Scott Bryan. Getting a real dark and stormy is easier when Ginger Beer is common. Between my last visit and now, Lemonade has become vastly easier to find.

Scott is a fan of the Scissor Sisters . .  the writers of the music for Tales of the City! Grabbing copies of the book in SFO, to give to James and Scott, was a great idea. I also gave James a copy of the Love is the Song We Sing: San Francisco Nuggets CD.
